For Chris, it all began in 2006, while serving in the Coast Guard he joined the station softball team as a way to bond with fellow members. During one game he decided it was a good idea to question an umpire on a call. The umpire fired back and said if he thought he could do better that he should put on the shirt and come out there. The next week he did just that. “I'd never dreamed that 15 years later I would still be umpiring, let alone own BOSS Assigning” says Chris.
He is a 1998 graduate of Concordia University in Ann Arbor, MI, where he majored in Sports Management. While attending Concordia he played goalkeeper for three years on the soccer team, and played a year of baseball, where the curve gave him fits. He is also a proud veteran of The US Coast Guard, in which he credits he gets his attention to detail from. Chris as an umpire also has umpired eight National Championships including several championship games. Besides assigning and umpiring, you will see him around as an Umpire in Charge, and instructing umpires.
